Who is Kapp'n?
Kapp'n is a turtle who has been around since the very beginning of the Animal Crossing series. He is all about flattering you and taking you where you need to go. He is quite laid-back and loves a sing-song too.
Throughout the games, he has been known as a Taxi Driver, Bus Driver, and now he takes on the role of a Sailor. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, his chosen form of transport is a small boat. As you go on adventures with him, he'll be highly chatty and always take the time to share a song with you too. To be frank, Kapp'n is simply a delight. We talk more in depth about who he is in our guide to Kapp'n here.
How to Go On A Kapp'n Island Tour
You'll find Kapp'n hanging out on his boat. His boat will be located by the pier on your island. When you find him, speak with him and advise that you want to go on a tour, and he will take you to a random island in exchange for 1000 Nook Miles. So, be sure to get earning (and saving) those Nook Miles if you're a big fan of Kapp'n and his sea shanties.
You should also note, however, that you can only go on one island tour with Kapp'n per day. Be sure to make the most of it and gather as many resources as you can!
What to Do On A Kapp'n Island Tour
The islands that Kapp'n takes you to are rather similar to Mystery Islands. If anything, they're a bit smaller but act as a haven for gathering more materials. More importantly, these islands are where you can find and collect Gyroid Fragments to take home with you and turn into musical Gyroids. We talk more about these strange sculptures and what to do with them in our guide here.
That's all you need to know about taking a trip with Kapp'n. We certainly hope you have fun experiencing his kind chatter and unique shanties. More importantly, don't forget to make the most of collecting those Gyroid Fragments!
