Sarah Michelle Gellar is 46 and looks incredible, but make no mistake that plenty of hard work and discipline is involved—as a recent Instagram story confirms. Gellar hared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a white shirt, doing an intense workout on the floor. "Not pictured hot room. And once again I can't walk today (it hurts to type)," reads the caption over the video. Gellar has been in the public eye for decades—here's what her diet, exercise, and wellness regimen looks like.

Gellar starts her day with a green juice before working out. "I go every weekend to the farmers market and I get fresh kale, spinach, celery, and lettuces and I blend it all together," she told Who What Wear. "That's my favorite thing before I work out. I love PlateFit and the feeling of being on a Power Plate. I love how quickly I can work out and get such a great exercise, I love Pilates because it centers me and it also strengthens my body, but I also love being outside, so swimming, hiking, anything like that is great as well."

Gellar genuinely loves healthy food and avoids junk. "I love food," she told Body+Soul. "I'd much rather eat a meal than eat a snack. I'm big on drinking water, and just giving your body the rest it needs even if it's just five minutes of meditation just to calm the craziness of the day. Luckily for me my husband [Freddie Prinze Jr.] does most of the cooking in this household – it's one of the things I'm fortunate to have so I get to put in the request for orders. But anyone who knows me will tell you if you ever offer me sushi, I will never say no."

Gellar does her best to avoid mindless scrolling on her phone. "One of my passions is reading. I'll get lost in a book, and all of a sudden it will be three hours later, and I've lost all track of time," she told Prevention. "But I feel great afterwards. So I try to remember those moments. I don't put my phone in the bedroom with me at night…to the point where one time my son got sick at a sleepover, and I literally didn't have my phone. Sorry Rocky! If I take a bath at night, I'll bring a book in but I won't bring my phone."

Gellar takes full advantage of the Southern California climate to be active outside. "I chase two children around which is the best recipe to stay active as they're so active," she told Body+Soul. "I'm very fortunate that I live in a climate that's beautiful year around and I try to take advantage of being outside, whether it's hiking or going to the beach and swimming and surfing. I prefer all those great outdoor activities than indoor activities – although I do love yoga. If we do yoga on the beach then I'm really happy."

Gellar relaxes by winding down with a glass of wine. "It's at the end of the day when I finally get some time to myself is to relax and have a really nice glass of wine like a Pure Bright Pinot Grigio, feel good about myself, and enjoy the rest of my evening," she told Who What Wear. "The one thing I do to wind down is: Honestly, my favorite indulgence is getting into my bubble bath with a really good book and a glass of Yellow Tail Pure Bright Pinot Grigio. That to me is the height of decadence."
