For her work in Netflix’s Squid Game, rising performer Lee Yoo-mi became the first Korean actress to receive a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. The actress portrayed Ji-Yeong, called Player No. 420, a laid-back and simple individual who joined the games after completing her sentence for murdering her father in retaliation for killing her mother.
Lee Yoo-mi, 28, has received multiple awards. The Creative Arts Emmy Award, on the other hand, is the most distinguished worldwide honor the actress has earned. In her address, she thanked Netflix and the TV Academy, stating (through a translator):
“Thank you very much for this wonderful award. I’d want to express my gratitude to the TV academy, as well as my Netflix team.”

Lee Yoo-mi discusses the weight of her Emmy Award victory.
Lee Yoo-mi, the freshly minted Creative Arts Emmy Award winner, wowed audiences with her performance in Squid Game as a convicted criminal with nothing to live for. The spectators’ attention was captured in an instant by her accent, freckles, short hair, and tough manner, but the lingering impact was her friendship and sacrifice for Kang Sae-byeok. She was the first South Korean actress to receive a Creative Arts Emmy for Guest Actress. She discussed her rising popularity in an after-show interview, with the coveted prize in hand and a translator at her side.
“Holding it now seems extremely weighty, almost like a huge feeling of obligation that I have as an actor.” I’d want to be able to do more with it in the future.”
Lee Yoo-mi was asked how far she believes she can go in Squid Game during the same backstage interview. After a few seconds of thought, she said, “I’ll probably die at Red Light, Green Light,” and chuckled. Meanwhile, Squid Game received three additional Creative Arts Emmy nominations. Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode, Outstanding Stunt Performance, and Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program were all awarded to the series (One Hour or More).
The Primetime Emmy Awards are traditionally preceded by the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. In the major Awards ceremony, the Netflix survival drama got six outstanding nominations. The Primetime Emmy Awards will be placed on September 12.
Lee Yoo-multiple mi’s career honors now include a Creative Arts Emmy Award.

For the 2021 films Young Adult Matters and Hostage: Missing Celebrity, she earned Best New Actress prizes at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards, Cine21 Awards, and Korean Film Writers Association Awards.
Lee Yoo-second mi’s Netflix series, All of Us Are Dead, was also a worldwide success. She portrayed a different persona than she did in Squid Game, demonstrating her diverse range of abilities. It goes without saying that the actress garnered more followers and attention. The Squid Game actress has been revealed to co-star with SHINee’s Minho in JTBC’s forthcoming film New Normal. She will be seen in tvN’s Mental Coach Jegal, which premieres on Viki on September 12.
