Spencer shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Parade. She talked about how she manages her stress. "I get stressed when I feel like I am being pulled in two different directions. I want to be there for my kids as much as possible. Some days it's difficult to do everything I want to do for them, and I get down. I try to give myself a break in those situations but it's not easy. The ol' working mother guilt creeps in and can really do a number on me. When that happens, I have found that talking to the kids is very helpful. Usually they feel very tucked in and have no idea why I am stressed out in the first place. It's a good reminder to be a little kinder to myself."

Spencer shared some of her favorite workouts in her Parade interview. "I enjoy swimming laps," she says. "It's a great workout and also allows me to get into a meditative state so it's very relaxing. I love the quiet and the rhythm of swimming. I do it quite a bit in the summer, but not very much in the winter."

Spencer tells Parade that in the colder weather, she turns away from swimming to a different workout. "I turn to yoga, preferably in a warm room, during the cold months. I do yoga year round but find myself craving it more in the fall and winter." Harvard Health reports, "Yoga is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body. But it can also have an impact on a person's exercise capacity. Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory fitness."

Spencer is a big fan of playing tennis. She told Parade, "I play tennis year round. I am on a USTA team and just got bumped up to a 4.0 rating so I am really excited. As a former athlete, I love the competition. I play both singles and doubles and would play every day if I could! I wish I had known about tennis as a kid. Unlike platform diving, it's a sport I can play for the rest of my life."

When it comes to wellness, Spencer is a big believer in balance. "Here and there, if I've been naughty, I'll jump on the elliptical, but I really don't go crazy," she tells Hello! Magazine. "Life is too short. I make sure that I eat right and I love playing tennis as you can be with friends and be outside. Just do what makes you happy."
