Today is father’s day and I am sure we all know that. Have you wished your father a direct and thoughtful day, have you shown little acts of love, appreciation and kindness to the men in your life who have been influential and loving to you? Who have helped shape your life or are you one of those who only sing their praises on facebook?
I was going through social media today and twitter is the worse of such empty praise avenues.
Your dad is not on Facebook / twitter, but you are on it dancing with his picture saying emotional things you have never said to him in person…Why? I hope all those posting will be nice enough to let their fathers know how they feel.
I have also seen the annoying posts that seek to glorify mothers as fathers on a day like this.
Your mother no matter how amazing she is cannot be a father. Do not call her that. She may be a mother who raised you alone and went above and beyond her call to make you turn out right. She has done everything for you that your father didn’t do. That is phenomenal but please do not post her picture today and wish her happy father’s day…
